Grief and the Artist Archetype

What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us. – Helen Keller
My friend’s death caused me to grieve a great soul. The comfort of his art and my own use of essential oils helps me now. When we grieve we look for things to fill us up because we feel an emptiness in our heart and gut. Our stomach can ache, our heart can hurt, and our breath seems like it is used only for sighs and sobs. I am a griever. Perhaps that’s why hospice has appealed to me as a nurse — helping the dying became my calling.

It is important to grieve fully to help heal during the painful contractions of loss. Essential oil blends can lift your spirits and help with the emotional pain that comes with grief. Having the honor of helping the dying and their families with essential oils has taught me the value of this choice of comfort. My friend’s death has affirmed this experience for me personally and professionally. May you comfort yourself with healthy choices as you grieve and cope with the losses in your life. May grief and joy be mixed into your spirit with a little help with essential oils, and much support and love from your friends and family. You all remain in my prayers as we walk the healing journey of grief to peace.
The pain passes, but the beauty remains. – Pierre Auguste Renoir
