From Excitement to Exhaustion, Essential Oil Blends are for You
Clapping and cheering in a crowd of over 450 teens with a few adults mixed in is both exciting and exhausting. I am with my husband who works on staff that runs a 4-week intensive business camp. The energy is high and by the end of the day he is drained but still has a huge smile on his face. He has the archetypes of the Coach and Networker. The Networker in him can walk in a room and connect people and places like knitting a sweater in an hour’s time. His Coach energy adds a new layer of personality as he instructs teens in this business camp – yes, he speaks fluent teenager. The teens understand his humorous directions for firming up their handshakes and looking people in the eye. It is impressive to witness.
The intense transformations that take place in this environment are awesome to witness, but they can challenge one’s balance. Essential oils can help calm the Coach and soothe the Networker in us as we too fall into bed with a smile on our faces. One blend that may be helpful during loud celebrations can include Patchouli Pogostemon cablin or Vetiver Chrysopogon zizanioides with Lavender Lavandula angustifolia, or Neroli Citrus aurantium with Blood Orange Citrus sinensis or Spearmint Mentha spicata.

Essential Oil Elements for Networker & Coach archetypes
I find that a small amount of the base notes of Patchouli or Vetiver bring a centering that can help one stay in the present moment during times when many conversations are happening at once. The mid-notes in Lavender and Neroli can keep the central nervous system calm through all the clapping, laughing, and paying attention to other people’s stories which all distract you from the present moment. The top notes of Blood Orange and/or Spearmint can lift the mind and heart when experiencing sad moments that are shared by others in an intimate conversation.
Taking quick bathroom breaks or going outside to apply and inhale a few drops of your blended essential oils can revive and uplift the spirit in the midst of joyful celebrations. Yes, celebrations can be just as stressful as funerals or sad gatherings. The summer season, complete with picnics, community and family gatherings, vacations, weddings, and the hustle-bustle of increased physical activity can be both exciting and exhausting. Why not get a blend of essential oils to help comfort and center yourself so you may better enjoy your relationships with others? Happy celebrating!
